Hello, Little Beaver Families! We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed a few days of relaxation! With school starting back tomorrow, we wanted to send out a few helpful reminders: -Students need to be in their classroom by 7:35am in order to not be counted tardy. -Absence excuses must be sent in within 3 days of a student returning to school. -Students have the number of days absent plus one to submit work after an absence. They cannot wait until the end of a grading period to turn in assignments. -If planned absences are set to occur or if it becomes necessary for a student to miss several days in a row, their work should be picked up and completed while they are out in order to avoid them falling behind. -Families can stay connected and informed by joining Class Dojo & Schoology, as well as following the school Facebook page. -End of day transportation arrangements can only be made when notes are written and sent in with students. We can't take a child's word of mouth for these changes. Phone calls to the school or messages to the teacher should only be done if an unexpected change arises once students are already in school. -Early dismissals should not be done after 1:50pm expect in emergency situations. Thanks for your help in making our school days run smoothly & ensuring your child has the best opportunities to learn at grow!

Hello BIS Families! Due to several incidents involving sports equipment at recess and outdoor PE, we're eliminating competitive games during those times. If your child has been bringing a basketball or football to use at school, we ask that you not allow them to continue to do so. Also, due to issues that transfer into school because of the use of social media and other technologies outside of school, we strongly encourage parents and guardians to monitor all communication on cellular phones and other devices. Thank you for your help in making your child's time at school as productive as possible! Have a great evening!

Hello, Little Beaver Families! Just a quick message to make sure you all know that we DO have school tomorrow, Tuesday, November 7th. It is Election Day in Virginia, not WV. We will be open! Also we are still receiving RSVPs for our Thanksgiving lunch, but unfortunately, we're unable to add more guests to our reservation lists. Any additional forms and money will be sent back home as we cannot accept late responses. More information will be coming out later this week to those that did send in reservations and payment. This information will include the menu for the meal and the time for guests to arrive- regular lunch times will be altered to account for the space needed for our guests! There is no school on Friday, November 10th in recognition of Veteran's Day. Enjoy the sunshine this evening!

Hello, Little Beaver Families! Yesterday was a great day for our students and staff! We appreciate everyone that came out to make Trunk or Treat a success! We're also appreciative of the opportunity to take our students to the Granada Theater to see "Charlotte's Web!" That was the perfect ending to our school wide book study! Thanksgiving Lunch RSVPs were due today. Friday, 11/3/23, is the very last day that those can be submitted- no other guests can be added once we take the final count on Friday afternoon. If you intend to come for the Thanksgiving Lunch event, please get your reservation and money turned in so that our cooks can make adequate preparations. Thanks so much!

Hello, Little Beaver Families! This message is just a reminder about a few things for tomorrow: Don't forget costumes tomorrow! No full face coverings (paint or masks), no inappropriate/scary accessories, and all costumes must be in compliance with dress code regulations. Students have to have permission slips in to attend the field trip to the Granada to watch "Charlotte's Web." All participants must also have a minimum of 80% in Conduct to be eligible to attend. Tomorrow's lunch menu was supposed to be spaghetti, but we swapped out for the cheese pizza meal to cut down on spills messing up costumes! Our Trunk or Treat begins at 1:00, so we ask that everyone that's part be set up by 12:50. We have 303 students & we ask that you bring enough for each child to receive one of what you're distributing. Thanks for everything you do to help your child be successful at school!

Hello, Little Beaver Families! Our students and staff had such a great time with our dress up days this week for Red Ribbon Week that we'd like to extend the fun one more day! Students and staff are welcome to wear PAJAMAS on Monday, October 30th. Students and staff may wear costumes on Tuesday. Please be sure those are school appropriate; no full face coverings, imitation weapons, and must meet dress code guidelines. Students must have at least an 80% in Conduct in order to go on our field trip to the Granada on Tuesday morning. Please be sure to turn in permission slips and donations (if possible) for the movie concessions. Our school's Trunk or Treat event will begin at 1:00. We ask that participants are set up by 12:50 and they come with enough goodies for all 303 of our students to be treated. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions! Enjoy the weekend!
