Due to a power outage school will be closed for students at Oakvale Elementary today, Friday April 12, 2024. Staff will report 2 hours late.

A special treat at today's Administrators' meeting was when Child Nutrition Director, Krista Kessinger, awarded the two schools with the highest lunch participation: Mr. Steve Hayes from the Early Learning Center and Mr. Michael Morgan from Glenwood. Great job!

The Mercer County Technical Education Center's Grow Your Own students participated in a teaching panel today at the Milken Educators' Forum in Charleston. These students are unique in that they will graduate with their Associate's Degree next month. After graduating from high school, they will move on to finish their teaching degrees. The Grow Your Own students who participated are Adrianne Jarrell, Erika Colley, Dexter Simon, and Teylah Carson. Also present at the forum were the Grow Your Own instructor Les Farmer and Mercer County's very own Milken Award recipients, Princeton Primary School's principal Kelli Stanley and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Ernie Adkins. This is a fantastic program giving students interested in a career in education a jump start on their college credits which saves money and allows them to being their teaching careers earlier. Check out the Grow Your Own program at MCTEC!

Central Office staff was excited about the eclipse, too!
