AFTERNOON BUS INFORMATION: Bus 619, which is a special needs bus, will not run this afternoon, Monday, October 7, 2024. This affects Glenwood, Bluewell, and Bluefield Middle.

The Bluefield High School "Get A Life" event that was scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 2024 will be rescheduled for November 2024. More details to come!

AFTERNOON BUS INFORMATION Friday, October 4, 2024: Bus 685 will not run this afternoon. This affects Spanishburg, PikeView Middle and PikeView High.

Mr. Toman, Dr. Adkins, and Mrs. Mitchell attended a reception to honor veterans. Tony Whitlow, retired state senator was also in attendance along with Mr. Shott!




Fourth and 5th grade teachers attended a PLC meeting today at the Seminar Center. They received professional development on iReady and had collaboration time among grade level colleagues from across the county.



Bluefield and Princeton Senior High School Marching Bands will host individual band competitions this Saturday, October 5th. The Inaugural Beaver Classic will be held at Mitchell Stadium, beginning at 9:30 am. Southern Thunder XIV performances will begin at 4:50 pm at Hunnicutt Stadium. Both of these events are part of the West Virginia Governor's Cup Competition, and we are so excited to host so many talented bands here in Mercer County! Admission to each event is $10 per person, and we invite the community to join us for a wonderful day of music. If you would like to assist either location with logistics, please reach out to Bluefield or Princeton Senior High School.





Bus 659 is running 45 minutes late this morning, Thursday, October 3rd. This affects Bluefield Primary, Bluefield Intermediate, Bluefield Middle and Bluefield High.

Grade Level PLCs for 2nd & 3rd grade teachers this afternoon in the Seminar Center. This time was used for iReady professional development and collaboration among teachers.



All Mercer County Schools will be open and on regular schedule tomorrow, Thursday, October 3rd.


PARENTS/FAMILIES WHOSE CHILDREN RIDE A BUS TO THE LEARNING TREEHOUSE: Those students WILL be transported to The Learning Treehouse. Parents/families may pick their children up at The Learning Treehouse at their regularly scheduled time.

Any students that ride bus 633 and live on Black Oak from Omega to Kale need to catch the bus at Omega Lane by 6:50. This affects Princeton Primary, Mercer, Straley, Princeton Middle and Princeton High.

All schools open and running on regular schedule on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, EXCEPT Lashmeet Matoaka Elementary. Students remain home, staff report to the MCTEC Seminar Center.


Due to the delayed FAFSA opening date, the FAFSA Workshop scheduled on October 10, 2024, at the MCTEC Seminar Center has been rescheduled to January 16, 2025. Look for details to come!
