High School Administrators and Teachers had their initial training on MasteryPrep this evening with Ms. Zandra Webb. This tool will help our high school teachers determine student strengths and weaknesses, as well as help students prepare for the Digital SAT that is given in Grade 11. Our county will use this tool for Grades 9 through 12, and we will host Bootcamps for students in the Spring.
Did you know that a student's SAT score is one of the criteria for the West Virginia Promise Scholarship and other scholarship awards?

Day Two of training in Lewisburg includes the Regional Rollout of Unite with Numeracy. Joining Assistant Superintendent Dr. Ernie Adkins and Amber Riffe are principals Shelley Weiss (Athens) and Emily Smith (Brushfork), and Mercer County Teacher of the Year, Kimberly Yahya.

Students and families from BMS attended a family engagement event for Southern West Virginia GEAR UP. Parents and students learned about career options, calculating GPA, attendance matters, college visits, and the three E's: enroll, enlist, or employ.
