The Mercer County Academic Bowl matches for the 2023-2024 school year have come to an end. The teams from Bluefield High, PikeView High and Princeton High have demonstrated their immense knowledge in all topics. A big congratulations to the Champions for this year - the Bluefield High School Team - who will retain possession of the Academic Bowl trophy. Thank you to Coaches Taylor Bulson (BHS), Teresa Barton (PVHS) and Jennifer McClanahan (PSHS) for preparing these students for the competition.
Our Mercer County Robotics League teams competed this week in the league division championships. Mercer Elementary Team D and Montcalm Middle Team B won the division 1 Championship and Straley Elementary Team C took the division 2 championship. All four teams earned a qualification for the WV State Championship in March. Our teams will be in competition again January 27th as Mercer County hosts the second annual Mercer County Open Qualifier at Princeton Senior High. They county championship will be held February 17th. We are excited to see our teams compete and work to qualify for the state competition!
