Construction is moving full steam ahead on the new Timberwood Elementary, and we can’t wait to welcome the Timberwood Wolves into their state-of-the-art home in fall 2025! Here’s the latest:
✅ Floors are being ground to perfection in preparation for polishing.
✅ Sprinkler systems are being installed to ensure safety for all.
✅ The gym is being undercut, bringing us one step closer to playtime!
✅ Ductwork is underway in the cafeteria, so those lunch vibes will be cool and comfortable.
✅ The kitchen hood has arrived on-site – ready to help serve up delicious meals.
✅ And let’s not forget the stunning rockwork adding that extra charm!
The vision is coming to life, and we’re thrilled about the journey ahead. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to opening day! 🏫💙

Yesterday, the Mercer County AASA/JASON Learning Core Team gathered to collaborate and plan for the year ahead! The team dove deep into state test data analysis and brainstormed exciting STEM projects to enhance student learning and engagement. @jasonlearning

A group of students from Bluefield and Princeton visited 59 News to film a Spirit of Excellence spot. The students also toured and viewed how the technology and media (TV and Social Media) are working hand in hand providing information to our communities.

Bus 659 will not run today, Friday, November 15th. This affects Bluefield Primary, Bluefield Intermediate, Bluefield Middle, and Bluefield High.

Teachers hard at work learning about Micro-credentials for their students in a wide range of STEM disciplines. Students will be able to use these bite sized learning experiences to develop their 21st century skills while boosting their college and career readiness.


Princeton-Area teachers participated in Jason Learning training @ Princeton Middle School on Tuesday, November 12. Topics included AI, Microbits, A Jason Learning Titanic Interactive Lesson and Jason Learning Microcredentialing!

Each principal showed up in a shirt from a different school, leaving everyone guessing who belonged to where! Amanda Reed and Leigh Ann Owen’s collaborate with secondary math teachers across the county in Mathematical Mindsets training on November 7th. Math teachers focus on strategies to Build Thinking Classrooms and encourage problem solving with their students.
