FYI: Attention Spanishburg families: the WVDOT is drilling holes at the road fall in by the old Taylor's Meat Packing Plant today. Each time they drill, it will delay traffic movement by 15 minutes. Routes may be delayed this afternoon.

The MCBOE recognized Bluewell Elementary's Erin Copenhaver as part of the 110% Club for the exceptional job she does in making positive relationships with her students.


Tonight at the MCBOE meeting, Straley principal Ashley Smith (not pictured) and Straley social worker, Laura Suroski, were recognized as part of the 110% Club. They were nominated by a student's family member for going above and beyond for her grandchild.

The Mercer County Robotics League hosted the 8th annual Blended Open Qualifier at Princeton Senior High School this past Saturday. 44 teams, from southern WV, competed in the Teamwork Competiton, Skills Challenge and judging for the chance to earn a bid to the WV State Championship pin Fairmont, WV. The day concluded with the top 24 teams battling for the teamwork championship and the awarding of several judged awards.
Team #18386C from Princeton Middle School and #59713D from Mercer Elementary won the Teamwork Champion Award with a score of 70.
Team #59713D from Mercer Elementary and #76782A from Charleson won the Elementary and Middle School Excellence Awards for exemplifying a high quality competion robotics program.
Team #59713D from Mercer Elementary also won the Robot Skills Champion award. They are currently ranked #1 in the state of WV.
Team #90222B from Straley Elementary won the Innovate Award for developing and documenting a unique aspect in their design and gameplay strategy.
Team #1460A from PikeView Middle won the CREATE Award for the most creative engineering solution to the challenges of this season's game.
Team #90222C from Straley Elementary won the Think Award for effective programming strategies for solving the game challenge.
CONGRATULATIONS to these teams for qualifying for the WV state Robotics Competition in March!
Thanks to our teams and coaches for an excellent season!! Mercer County had over 49 teams compete in our league this year and continues to be one of the largest robotics programs in the Eastern US Region. Thank you to our parents for your tireless support of our students and the community for supporting this program through the school levy.
