The Mercer County BOE recognized the following students for placing 1st in the Spark WV Entrepreneurship Competition in the Big Ideas Category: Johnathon Meadows, Brooklynn Minnix, Jacob Lafferty (all PVHS), and Leah Johnson (PSHS).
The Mercer County BOE recognized Johnathon Meadows (PVHS) For winning 1st place in Balsa Bridge Design for the 2nd year in a row.
The Mercer County BOE recognized PVHS's Landon Lester and Landon Palmer for placing 2nd in Software Design at the WV Bridge Design and Build.
The Mercer County BOE recognized PVHS's Jacob Lafferty and Ben Williams for placing 1st in Software Design at the WV Bridge Design and Build.
The Mercer County BOE recognized the PikeView students who participated in the very 1st Middle School All-State Band: Joanna Williams, Haleigh Shrewsbury, Mary Berkey, and Elijah Morey.
The Mercer County BOE recognized the Princeton Middle students who participated in the very 1st Middle School All-State Band: Owen Hackney and Christopher Morgan.
The Mercer County BOE recognized the Glenwood students who participated in the very 1st Middle School All-State Band: Collin Hodges, Wyatt Bailey, Alyssa Dinger, and Yaa Afreh Berkoh.
The Mercer County BOE recognized Bluefield Middle School's Ethan Kim for his acceptance and participation in the WV Middle School All-State Orchestra.
The Mercer County BOE recognized Khloe Stinnette and Kinleigh Lyster for placing 1st at the state Social Studies Fair for Division I Geography.
The Mercer County BOE recognized Jaxton Lane and Sullivan Lane for winning 1st place at the state Social Studies Fair in Division I Economics
Today, the BHS Quiz team was recognized for their accomplishments at the WV Academic Showdown. Cabinet Secretary Randall Reid-Smith, Bill Cole, Jim Bailey, and Paul Hodges congratulated Coach Taylor Bulson, Nathan Yost, Jack Shroeder, Quinn Brown, Liam Dietz, and Titus Holcomb for their successful Season. The team finished 2nd in the competition out of over 100 teams.
All Schools Closed on May 14th!
Bluefield Middle School started their testing off right. Students walked the red carpet while former and current teachers, along with Mr. Toman, cheer them on and wish them good luck!
BUS INFORMATION for Monday, May 13th: The following buses will NOT run today:
Bus 641 which affects Mountain Valley, Bluefield Middle and Bluefield High
Bus 618 which transports students to the alternative school
ROUTE CHANGE:
Bus 634 will not run today; however, students that live on Old Bluefield Road and in Jera K will ride bus 677. Pick up times will be delayed.
Students that live on Willowbrook Road, Harrison Avenue and South Avenue, will ride bus 623.
AFTERNOON BUS INFORMATION for Friday, May 10th: Bus 599 will run about 30 minutes behind this afternoon. This affects Montcalm Elementary and Montcalm High
BUS INFORMATION for Friday, May 10th: Bus 643 will not run today. This affects Spanishburg, Pikeview Middle and Pikeview High.
AFTEROON BUS INFORMATION: Bus 675 will NOT run this afternoon, which affects Princeton Primary, Straley, Princeton Middle, and Princeton High. The following buses will transport these students home this afternoon, May 9, 2024.
Elementary: Bus 690, driver Donna Syres, will pick up bus 675 and bus 690 students together from Princeton Primary. She will then travel to Straley and pick up bus 675 students first and take them home. She will return to Straley and pick up Bus 690 students to transport them home.
Middle and High School:
Bus 690, driver Donna Syres, will pick up Bus 675 and 690 Princeton Middle and Princeton High students EXCEPT for the students who are transported to High Street. High Street middle and high school students will ride bus 598 with driver Brandon Ramsey.
BUS SUBSTITUTIONS for Thursday, May 9th.
Bus 675 is not running today, but alternate buses will transport these students. This affects Princeton Primary, Straley, Princeton Middle and Princeton High.
Students that live on Low Gap and the Village will ride bus 690- expect about a ten minute delay.
Students that live on High Street will ride bus 633 at normal pick up times. Princeton Middle and Princeton High students only.
Students that live on Thornton and 5th will ride bus 676 after 7:00 a.m. He will pick up all students at one time on this route.
