Hello families, we are extending the candy gram due date. Students will be able to purchase candy canes to send to family and friends for $1.00. All money and forms need to be returned by Wednesday, December 13th. Candy canes will be delivered next week. Thank you for your support.
LMS families, due to the weather forecast, the donuts for the 5th grade field trip will be delivered on Thursday, December 7. The fifth grade parent meeting will be at 2:30 that day. As a reminder, if a Reimagine Day is called, we will have Teams meetings. The schedule is posted on our school Facebook page. If it is a cancellation, no teams meetings. If we have a 2 hour delay, students should arrive by 9:30. Please return devices the next school day charged and ready to go for class work.
LMS families, donut orders for the 5th grade fundraiser must be turned in by 9:00a.m. tomorrow, December 1. We are extending the entry deadline for Snowflake King/Queen until Monday. Please have your child pick up an entry form from the office if they're interested. We have collection containers here at school. All you need to do is send in the entry form and a 5x7 inch poster with your child's name and picture. We will attach the posters to the containers. Voting will begin Monday morning. One penny equals one vote. Tomorrow is the last day to turn in money and slips for the PTO movie night. Also, as a reminder, dont forget to wear blue tomorrow to support the Princeton Tigers as they go to their championship game! Thank you!
Good evening LMS families! We will have two more rehearsal days for the student and adult choir with Mrs. Fox; Thursday, November 30 and Thursday, December 7 after school until 3:30. Please send a note if your student is staying. The performance dates are Saturday, December 9, 3:30 at the Granada Theatre in Bluefield WV and Tuesday, December 12 at LMS at 5:30.
LMS families, our Snowflake King & Queen contest will begin next week. Entry forms with guidelines are available in the office. These need to be returned to school by this Friday. We have a lot of great things happening in our county!!! Please join us Friday, December 1, 2023, by having your child wear BLUE to support our fellow students, the Princeton Tigers, as they go to their championship football game!! The Lashmeet Matoaka Indians are cheering them on!!! 💙

Due to a lack of orders, fifth grade donut orders are extended until December 1 with a delivery date of December 6. • In honor of National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week, November 11-18, Mercer County Schools and Lashmeet Matoaka School is collecting donations to stock the local blessing boxes. We will stock the box in Matoaka and Lashmeet. Items needed are non-perishable foods, gloves, toboggans, scarves, and personal hygiene items. We will collect items until November 28.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 and provided to you and a guest, at no cost. A special program will follow at 12:30. In order for us to plan for this event, we need to know how many to prepare for. LMS families, next week is drug prevention week, also known as red ribbon week. We would love for our students to dress up and celebrate being drug free! Monday is character day. Dress as your favorite character from a book. Tuesday is peace out to bullying and drugs. Wear tie dye. Wednesday is pajama day. Put drugs and bullying to sleep! Wear your pajamas.. County school dress code applies. No house shoes or slippers. Thursday is fancy day. Too FANCY for drugs and bullying!” Wear your fancy clothes. It’s picture day! Friday is Animal Day. Wild about being drug and bully free! Wear your favorite animal print.

Good evening LMS families! Tomorrow is the last day to turn in pumpkins for the pumpkin contest. Voting for your favorite pumpkin will begin on Wednesday morning. Don't forget to send in your loose change and dollar bills. The winner will get to choose Mrs. Taylor's hair color for a day. Boo grams are due on Thursday, October 19 and our Title 1 Parent Involvement movie night is also on the 19th from 5:00-7:00. Friday, October 20 is a faculty senate day for all schools in Mercer County. Staff report to school and students remain at home. There was a mistake to the message yesterday. Fall pictures are on October 26. Class parties are on the 31st. We will have a "Don't Be Spooked by Technology" session from 12:00-1:00. This will allow you to learn about Schoology, Clever, iReady and online programs. Parties will begin at 1:00. Thank you for your support!
