Good evening LMS families! As a friendly reminder, all students must be following the Mercer County dress code policy. See the school's Facebook page for a description as well as a reminder went home with students today. In honor of Grandparent's Day, we are planning to celebrate by having a "Donuts with Grown-ups" on Monday, September 11 at 1:00 for grades PK-2 and on Tuesday, September 12 at 1:00 for grades 3-5. We will enjoy a book about grandparents, have donuts, and a photo opportunity will be available for $5.00. We have a menu change for tomorrow. We will be having beef tacos with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pinto beans, tortilla chips with salsa, tangerines, and milk. Thank you for your continued support!

Good evening LMS families! In regards to the volunteer application sent home with your child's beginning of year paperwork, you do not need provide your social security number. We do, however, need your driver's license number. If you have already sent in your form with your social security number on it, the classroom teacher will mark it out with a black sharpie marker. We do need applications for anyone who plans to volunteer throughout the year. Thank you for your support!

Good evening LMS families! We look forward to the first day of school tomorrow for K-5. Preschool students begin on Monday, August 28. Parents of Preschool and Kindergarten students, you will be allowed to walk your child to their classroom on the first day only. We also want to remind parents that we have a new gym floor and the only shoes allowed on our gym floor is tennis shoes. Most students will have a locker or somewhere to keep an extra pair of shoes. You can check with your child's teacher to see when PE is scheduled for their class to ensure they have the shoes they need. Thank you for your support in this matter! Good evening Lashmeet Matoaka families! We have a couple of important announcements for you. We hope you all can join us tomorrow from 3:00-5:00 for our annual meet the teacher event. As we start the school year, please be patient with our bus drivers. It may take a week or so to get their actual pick up and drop off times accurate. I would be at the bus stop several minutes early to ensure you are there when they come by. We do have some changes to our bus routes. Students that rode bus 664 and live on Cemetery Hill will now ride Adam Howell's bus 605 from the Matoaka Fire Department stop. Students that rode on Bus 664 and live on Rock Road/Route 71 will now ride Adam Howell's bus 605 at the same spots.
Student that rode on bus 665 and live in Lake Bottom will be picked up by Mark Selvey around 7:10 A.M. at the same spots. Waylon Carter, bus 656 will be running about 10 minutes early. As a reminder, students cannot be dropped off at the loop before 6:05 A.M. Our tardy bell rings at 7:30 and dismissal is at 2:20. We look forward to our students heading back to school and we anticipate having a great year!

Hello LMS families! Don't forget, our summer Thrive program will resume Wednesday, June 21 - Friday, June 23 from 8:00-1:30. We hope to see you on Wednesday! It's not too late to sign up!
This is just a reminder that our summer Thrive program began today. It's not to late to join us! It is from June 12-16 and June 21-23 from 8:00-1:30. Kevin Welch, bus 636, will pick up at the following locations: Wyoming County line at 7:30 A.M., Weese Mountain Road 7:35, Matoaka Fire Dept. 7:40, L&M Market 7:46, Lashmeet Grocery 7:48, and Bible Baptist 7:50. Please be patient as these times may vary starting out. Mr. Welch will pick along Beeson Road and Route 10 as needed. Drop off will be the same locations between 1:40-2:15. Student drop off will be at 8:00 and pick up will be at 1:30. We hope to see you tomorrow!
