We’re getting excited for the 2022-23 school year!! There’ll be 2 timeframes for families to stop by to see the school and Meet the Teacher on Thursday, August 25th. Come by any time between 10am-noon OR 4:30pm-6:30pm! See you then! 🦫 ❤️ 🏫


Hello Little Beaver Families! Our summer program begins tomorrow, Monday, June 6th at 8:00am. We’re excited to see our students that signed up to participate! Breakfast and lunch will be served each day. Students do not need backpacks or any other materials. Dismissal will begin at 1:15pm. All students need to be picked up by 1:30pm. Enjoy the beautiful weather today!


Hello BIS families! We had a wonderful last day of school with our Little Beavers today! Thank you for supporting your child’s success at school! All medication kept at the school must be picked up by 3:00pm tomorrow, Friday, June 3rd. Medicines not collected at that point will be discarded. Our yearbooks have not yet been delivered. We hope that they will arrive by the end of our Summer Learning Program, which ends on June 16th. Updates will be shared as we receive them. Many thanks to you all for a very productive school year!

Hello BIS families! We apologize for changing plans on such short notice, but the weather prediction for Thursday has caused us to need to switch our Fun Day and 3rd/4th Awards Day. Our Fun Day will now be tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1st. Students may bring a towel and change of clothing since we’ll have outdoor water activities. Swimsuits are not allowed. Awards for Third and Fourth Graders will now be held on Thursday, June 2nd. Third Grade Awards will begin at 9:00 and Fourth Grade Awards will be at 10:30- again these will be on THURSDAY morning. Thank you for understanding the need for this last minute adjustment! Have a great evening!



Tomorrow, Friday, May 27th is a 2 hour early dismissal for all Mercer County school. BIS will dismiss at 12:20. Thank you for making end of day arrangements for this altered schedule.


Mrs. Pam’s replacement bus has come and she is on her way to drop off her students.

Hello families! Mrs. Pam’s bus, bus 659, is having mechanical issues. A replacement bus is on the way. Students will be later than usual being delivered by bus 659. Thank you for your patience.

Monday was our last day of tutoring for the year.

Hello, BIS families! Krispy Kreme has notified us that one of their main machines has broken down, which is going to impact delivery of our fundraiser donuts. Instead of coming in tomorrow, they are now set to be delivered next Wednesday, May 18th. We will send out pickup times once we have that information. Thank you for your understanding. We appreciate your support of our fundraiser!

There will be a performance by the Bluefield All City Band next Thursday, May 12th at 6:30pm at Bluefield High School. Participants must arrive at 5:30 to get set up. This will be the first concert for our fifth grade band students! We hope to see everyone there!


Hello Little Beaver families! If your child still needs to bring in his/her computer, charger, and headphones, please be sure to send those items tomorrow, Monday, May 2nd so we’re all set for testing on Tuesday. You may also send in your inspiring note if hadn’t already done so. Finally, there will be no after school tutoring this week. We appreciate your help getting your child to school on time and encouraging your child to do their personal best each day of the test! Thank you for all you do!
