Information on Princeton area schools lockdown 2/17/23:
A student in the office area of Princeton Senior High School became aggressive and disrespectful to the administration. The student left the office without permission. The School Resource Officer attempted to intervene with the student, and the student became physically aggressive. Contrary to rumor, there was not a weapon involved at the school.
In an unrelated incident that occurred almost simultaneously, Princeton Police notified our Schools Safety Director and advised Princeton area schools go on cautionary lockdown due to a person in Princeton brandishing a weapon from a vehicle. The police apprehended the suspect and lockdowns were lifted. Precautionary lockdowns due to an outside threat means exterior doors are secure, students remain in classrooms, and instruction is not interrupted.

For a brief period, Princeton Area Schools were under a precautionary lockdown due to police activity nearby. There is no longer a threat, so all schools' lockdowns have been lifted.
