Thank you to the United Way for donating shoes to our schools! Their initiative is to provide children in Fayette, Raleigh, Nicholas, Wyoming, McDowell, Mercer and Summers Counties who are in need of shoes with new, athletic style shoes. Melrose School had the sweetest visitor today. Ms. Phyllis Akers, former teacher at Melrose stopped by the school. She taught at Melrose from 1973-2003. She brought some delicious baked goodies for the staff. She toured the school and shared some wonderful stories. They cannot wait for her to return for a visit.

Today, members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Beta Lambda Omega Chapter of Bluefield, WV, met with Superintendent Edward Toman and Amanda Aliff, Coordinator of Pupil Services.
