
You never know what you might see when you visit a Pre-K classroom. You may see painting, singing, dancing, and building. You could also see baby chicks hatching in real life if you visit Mrs. Cottle's and Mrs. Janelle's class at Mountain Valley.

BUS INFORMATION for Wednesday, May 1st:
Bus 621 will not run today; however, bus 676 will pick up elementary students at their usual stops and bus 653 will pick up the middle and high school students at their usual stops. The students will ride these alternate buses home this afternoon as well. This affects Princeton Primary, Mercer, Straley, Princeton Middle and Princeton High.

Mercer County: Please be advised that Kreative Kids on Brick Street, Princeton will not be open this evening due to utility issues. They will not be open nor accepting students this evening. Please make arrangements if your child rides a bus there in the afternoons.

Bus 605 is currently stuck in traffic and is running about 10 minutes late. This affects Lashmeet Matoaka, Pikeview Middle and Pikeview High.

Election day is May 14th, NOT May 7th. It is incorrect in the Mercer County Schools calendar. Schools will be closed on May 14, 2024. Schools will be OPEN on May 7, 2024.

The second HBCU trip is underway. The first stop will be at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. Dr. William White and Mr. Toman along with 33 students and chaperones are excited to be a part of this amazing opportunity!





Attention students in grades 9-12: don't forget Patriotism Art Contest Projects are due April 30, 2024. Secretary of State Mac Warner presented Montcalm High Seniors with the Jennings Randolph Award. Hunter Lewis and Faith Hodge were named Honorary Secretaries of State. Montcalm is 1 of 30 high schools in West Virginia to earn this award! Congratulations!

BUS INFORMATION for Wednesday, April 24th: Bus 648 will not run this morning. This affects Athens, Pikeview Middle and Pikeview High. It WILL run this afternoon.

Construction and improvement updates! Athens School is continuing to have new windows installed. This week is mostly in the gym area. At Spanishburg, wiring of BARDs (HVAC units) and finishing some hallway ductwork is underway. At Bluefield High, the company installing the new HVAC has spent most nights finishing the control wiring. And at the new Timberwood Elementary, the main entrance was poured, topped the ICF walls in the gymnasium and cafeteria, and worked on the elevator pit.
