Our books from the Book Blast have arrived and will be sent home this evening with your child. Please remember that every child will receive one free book from Book Blast while those students who raised more money will receive more books. We had several students who received all 10 books. Thanks for everyone who took the time and participated in our program. Please read those books to your child and let's emphasize the importance of reading.

Due to the weather forecast for tomorrow, October 17th , our field trip to the Crab Orchard Pumpkin Patch has been cancelled. As a result of the amount of rain which the area has received over the past few days, the grounds of the pumpkin patch are completely saturated. We were unable to reschedule a date this year to the pumpkin patch. All monies collected will be credited to our next field trip which should take place in December. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Students at MCELC were treated today to Peanut Butter and Jelly Spider sandwiches. Special thanks to our cooks Misty and Connie for always going above and beyond for our students.

MCELC was visited today by members of the East River Volunteer Fire Department as part of Fire Prevention Month. Students were taught about fire safety as well as given the opportunity to see a real fire truck. Thanks to the folks at the ERVFD for coming out and spending some time with our students.
