Carowinds Information: This Saturday, 05/13/23, is our school-wide field trip to Carowinds. We wanted to share the final details and important information for this trip. Students must be at the school by 5:30 am. Bus leaves at 6 and we need to have all students accounted for, eat breakfast, and distribute t-shirts. Parents wishing to purchase additional tickets at the discounted rate will need to pay for these at the 5:30am drop off time at the school. The cost is $76.99 per ticket. We WILL NOT have any change on hand. Students MUST ride the bus to Carowinds (assigned busses and seats). A parent/guardian may sign their child out with their assigned chaperone at the park. If they are riding home with a friend’s parent, you have to have a note from each parent/guardian. These notes MUST be delivered to the office by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12th. Students MUST stay with their assigned chaperone. The park REQUIRES students 15 and under to remain with a chaperone at all times. Carowinds chaperone policy: Under this policy, all guests ages 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old in order to be admitted to, or remain in, the park after 4:00 p.m. local time to close. The chaperone must present a valid government-issued photo identification with date of birth at ticket entry. One (1) chaperone may accompany no more than ten (10) guests ages 15 or younger per day. In addition, the chaperone must accompany their party during entry, remain inside the park during their visit, and be available by phone throughout their stay. Guests ages 15 years old or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone will be subject to ejection. Students must keep up with their own belongings - lockers are available to rent inside the park at various locations. PMS is NOT responsible for student’s personal belongings, including, but not limited to: cell phones, game systems, air pods, ear buds, clothing, etc. All school rules WILL apply on the trip. Students should be on their best behavior as they are representing PMS! Carowinds is cashless. They will accept credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. If you have cash, there are kiosks at the park to exchange money for cards. However, the lines are very long and it may take you a while to do this. No outside food or beverage is allowed inside Carowinds. Bags are subject to search before entering. Carowinds' dress code: Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times. Profanity, obscene gestures and statements, pictures of illegal substances, insignia of paramilitary groups, all gang-related items on clothing, costumes, or disguises that conceal identity are prohibited and admission to the park may be refused. Carowinds' line jumping policy: Line jumping, cutting in front of others, saving a place in line, or leaving a line and trying to re-enter may lead to ejection from the park. Please report line jumping to any Carowinds associate or park security. Food/Drinks – Students will have a wrist band to scan for food/drinks. Food is available every 90 minutes and drinks every 15 minutes. We will stop at a rest area with small group chaperones on the way down and on the way back. We plan to meet together at 6:00pm inside the park before exiting. At that time, parents will be able to sign out their student with their assigned chaperone at that time. We plan to leave Carowinds by 6:30pm and return to the school around 10:30pm. We are SOOOOO excited for this trip and for our students! We couldn’t do this without the continued support of our parents and teachers – you all are AMAZING!!!
