🏃♀️ We are so proud of our teachers at Princeton Middle School for participating in the Run in Remembrance 5K at Virginia Tech—an event that begins with a moment of silence to honor the 32 students and faculty whose lives were lost in 2007. Their commitment to staying active and involved sets a strong example for our students about the importance of physical fitness and healthy lifestyles.

🚚✨ Big ideas rolling through Princeton Middle!
In Mrs. Twitty's Careers Exploration class, our 6th graders took on the challenge of designing their very own food trucks—from paper to reality! Starting with 2D sketches, students then brought their concepts to life by building 3D models.
This project pushed them to think critically and use precise measuring skills to make sure every piece fit just right. From creative menus to detailed designs, these students proved they’ve got what it takes to turn ideas into something real!
We love seeing hands-on learning in action! 👏

🎨✨ Student Creativity in Action at Princeton Middle! ✨🎨
Ms. Ray’s class has been diving into symbolism this week, and our students really brought their ideas to life! 🧠💡 From meaningful objects to creative designs, each student created a picture that represents what symbolizes them—showcasing their personalities, interests, and individuality.
📸 We love seeing our kiddos engaged, thinking deeply, and expressing themselves in such unique ways. Great job, everyone! 👏💙

🔧🌉 Real-World Learning in Action! 🌉🔧
Students in Mrs. Twitty's class had an exciting opportunity to work with representatives from Conn-Weld, .who visited to share career insights and lead hands-on STEM activities! Proudly headquartered right here in West Virginia, Conn-Weld is a global leader in separation and sizing equipment, known for driving innovation and creating solutions for unique problems. During their visit, students took on the challenge of designing and building bridges using only straws and tape—testing their creations to see how many pennies they could hold.
This experience gave students a firsthand look at how math, engineering, and problem-solving come together in real careers. Opportunities like this help our students connect what they learn in the classroom to the real world, while also exposing them to career paths they may not have considered before.
We are proud to connect our students with industry leaders who are not only shaping the world but are also invested in inspiring the next generation right here at home! 👏

🥚📊 Making Math Fun at Princeton Middle School! 📊🥚
At Princeton Middle, we believe learning should be engaging, interactive, and fun—and our math classes are a great example of that in action!
In 6th grade, Ms. Mitchem and Ms. Lucas turned review day into an exciting Egg Hunt Challenge! Students worked in teams of 2–3 to find hidden eggs, each containing a math problem. After solving, they submitted their answers through an IXL Quiz. The combination of movement, teamwork, and problem-solving kept students energized and focused while reinforcing key math skills. 🧠✨
Meanwhile, in 8th grade, Mrs. Mills’ math class took the egg hunt to the next level by connecting it to their study of bivariate data. Students searched for eggs containing coordinate points, which they later used to create scatterplots and analyze patterns, including identifying the line of best fit. 📈
To keep the momentum going, Mrs. Mills even took the lesson outside, bringing along a whiteboard to continue instruction in a fresh setting. Students were more engaged, eager to participate, and excited to answer questions while learning in a new environment! 🌿☀️
From collaboration to real-world application, these activities show how math at Princeton Middle is more than just numbers—it’s an experience!
👏 Great job to our students and teachers for making learning come alive!

🧩📐🧠 Mrs. Mills’ Math 8 students turned into a human puzzle as they worked together to build formulas for a cylinder, cone, and sphere! Using cards with different parts of each equation, groups collaborated to unscramble and correctly form all three formulas. 🤝✨ This engaging, hands-on activity strengthened teamwork, critical thinking, and understanding of volume concepts. Awesome work, mathematicians! 🎉

🪁 Learning Takes Flight in 8th Grade Math! ☀️
Students in Mrs. Mills’ 8th grade math class recently applied the Pythagorean Theorem in a hands-on way by designing and building their own kites. After calculating side lengths and ensuring their designs were mathematically sound, they took their creations outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. It was a perfect day for learning and flying, as students saw math come to life in a fun and engaging way. Great work to our young mathematicians for combining creativity, problem-solving, and real-world application!
