Mixing vinegar and baking soda causes an immediate chemical reaction. Our fifth graders created paper volcanoes and decorated them based off their prediction of whether Ms. Jones was having a girl or boy. 🙂 One of the volcanoes had the color blue hidden inside to reveal that she is having a boy! 💙

So proud of these kiddos for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to our Robotics Program!!!

Happy Johnny Appleseed Day from Ms. Bowen’s and Ms. Harman’s Kindergarten! 🍎

Today, professional staff threw a brunch for our service staff. Thank you a brunch, haha, to the whole mountain valley team! 💙💛

Don’t forget picture day is tomorrow!

Kindergarten learning hand bells and boomwhackers with Ms. Ana! & Ms. Jones’ Kindergarten class made scissor salad to practice their cutting skills.

Kindergarten used their rhythm sticks to work on steady beat and locomotor skills while pretending to make a pizza. They used the sounds made by the rhythm to describe the steps involved in pizza making.

We are more than just students and staff. We are more than just mountaineers. We are a family and we are proud to be a part of MVES! 💙💛

On September 11, 2001, America was forever changed. It has been 23 years since the attacks, but that tragic day, which served as a true test of the American spirit, will be remembered always.
So on this day, we observe Patriot Day and all that it represents—we honor the value of life, those we loved and lost, our country’s resilience, and the strength of the American spirit.

Second grade worked together today completing reading groups and playing a Kahoot to review addition facts.

First graders played Rolley Ball in gym class today!

Mrs. Cottle's Pre-K class looking super cute today 🥰

Mrs. Bowen’s kindergartners read “Giraffes Can’t Dance” and then discussed what they can’t do yet and what it means to try, and how they can put their minds toward something and make it happen! They made an anchor chart of things they’d like to do but can’t yet. They chose something they can’t do yet off of their anchor chart and illustrated it.

Mrs. Fulp’s 2nd graders enjoyed reading groups last week and had fun with math manipulatives! 💙

Ms. Seabolt’s third graders have been LOVING these first days back to school! 🎉💙

Ms. Thornton’s third graders worked on using information they knew to make predictions about what happens next this week. They used what they knew about football, Penn State, and WVU to make predictions about tomorrow's game. Even though Penn State is ranked #8 students predicted WVU to win because of their hard work, confidence, and never underestimating the underdog. They ended the day by singing Country Roads.

Ms. Thornton’s 2nd graders colored flying WV’s today! 💙
