Dear LMS fourth grade parents, this is just a reminder that field trip permission forms and money are due by October 10th. We are visiting the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine on October 22, the trip costs $15.00. Students will also need to bring money to purchase lunch at McDonald's that day. It is going to be a great trip! Thank you

Good evening LMS families! Please turn in Veterans Day forms, as soon as possible. We will be drawing for the quilt on Wednesday, October 1st. If you turn the form in after this date, you can still come to the program, however, you won't be in the drawing for the quilt. Also, don't forget to send in a family photo. They can be emailed to ltaylor@k12.wv.us.
Good morning LMS families! This is a friendly reminder that we will have a PTO and LSIC meeting directly after school, at 2:30, in the cafeteria. We hope you can join us and be part of our PTO.
We will be having our first PTo & LSIC meeting on Thursday, September 25 at 2:30 in the cafeteria.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. We are going to "Go Gold" on Wednesday, September 24th.

Mr. Jones's students participated in a cup stacking challenge where they were asked to copy different cup designs. Then the students were split up into groups to see which team could build the tallest tower.

Mr. Jones's classes learned that shadows are made when an object blocks a source of light. They learned about opaque, transparent, and translucent objects. Then the students made their own shadow puppets.

Kindergarten does a STEM center daily during POWWOW math time. Right now, they have been building with straws and jacks.

Congrats to Clara & Coalson for having the most iReady 100s last week in reading & math 😊

Mr. Harmon is working with third grade students on jumping rope. They also played a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Jump.

This week, our students had a choice of trying three different types of plumcots. This is a hybrid fruit that is 50% plum and 50% apricot. They loved them! 💙

LMS families, Bible Club starts tomorrow. Students must have a signed permission slip to stay. No phone calls will be made to get permission. Thank you!
We'd like to share that over 2,500 schools across West Virginia, including higher education institutions, have received donated signs displaying our national motto: “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
This initiative follows Senate Bill 280, which requires that this sign be displayed in a conspicuous location within the main building of each public school or institution of higher education—somewhere easily accessible to the public.
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to First Liberty Institute, Patriot Mobile, Patriot Academy, and Christian Management for generously donating the signs that will be displayed at Lashmeet Matoaka School.
