Just a reminder fourth grade field trip to the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine and MCDonalds is tomorrow. Kids need to bring a jacket and money for lunch. Devices are not allowed. We will leave LMS at 8:30 and return at 1:45. It is going to a great trip!

Good evening LMS families! Just a reminder that tomorrow is picture day and tomorrow evening is our Title I Parent Involvement and Fall Festival from 5:00-7:00. Students do not wear their costumes to the fall festival ; however, they are allowed to wear costumes on Halloween. We are still taking donations of candy and two liters. LMS families, Monday, October 13, is a faculty senate day and students do not attend school. The Science Fair has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 16. Lastly, fifth grade is selling car wash tickets to Tidal Wave in Princeton. Purchase a $30 car wash for $10. See Mrs. Teresa or Mrs. Kessler to purchase your tickets. All money raised goes towards the fifth grade field trip.
Parents and community members, please join us for a Local School Improvement Council Stakeholders meeting on Monday, October 27, at 2:30 in the cafeteria of Lashmeet Matoaka School.
Support our 5th grade students by purchasing a Tidal Wave $30 carwash ticket for $10. All proceeds will go towards their end of year field trip.

Student learning depends on being in school every day. The more time students spend in class, the more opportunities they have to learn, grow, and achieve.
If your child has missed 2 or more days this school year, they are considered chronically absent, according to the West Virginia Department of Education policy.
Please help us by making sure your child is here, on time, every day, ready to learn. It is also important that they do not leave school early. Please schedule doctor's appointments on days off from school or after 2:30 P.M.
Together, we can make sure all students have the best year possible!

LMS families, Smile WV Dental Program provides a dentist and hygienist for an on-site dental visit.
The first visit is for cleanings and x-rays if needed.
They return for a second visit is for treatment of cavities if your child needs a treatment. In 6 months, they return for cleanings and more treatments.
Consent forms are needed yearly.
Make sure to put your child's insurance information or SSN on the form so that it can be processed.
This program is not in addition to your dental home. This takes the place of it, so if you wish to stay at your current dentist do not return the form.

Good evening LMS families! The Pikeview High School homecoming parade is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, starting at 6:00 in Athens. Students need to arrive at the Concord University Football Field parking lot by 5:15. We kindly ask that each child bring a bag of candy to toss out during the parade and don't forget to wear your school colors. We also ask that parents volunteer to walk alongside the float to ensure student safety. After the parade, students can be picked up at the football field parking lot. Thank you for your support!
