Good evening LMS families! Tomorrow, students in grades 3-5 will have a testing olympics. All students will need to wear tennis shoes, bring a beach towel to sit on, and wear comfortable clothes. Please make sure all clothing follows Mercer County School's dress code policy. If your child puts his or her hands down by their side, the students shorts and skirts must not be above the longest finger. Also, the straps on shirts must be three fingers wide on each side. One last reminder, tomorrow is a two hour early dismissal. Have a great evening!

Good evening LMS families! We have a change to the lunch menu tomorrow. We will be having hotdogs instead of pigs in a blanket. As a reminder, Friday, May 12 is a two hour early dismissal. Also, it is that time of year where ticks are starting to be seen. Students do play outside on days we have nice weather. When your child arrives home, please check to make sure your child doesn't have any ticks. Thank you for your support!

All of Adam Howell's students on bus 605 are now on bus 664. He is making his run on Reese Harmon Ridge then he will bring Adam's students home.

Good evening LMS families! I have a couple of reminders and important dates to share with you. First, this week is the last week of tutoring. Next, this Friday, May 12, is a two hour early out. The last day for Bible Club is Wednesday, May 31. For lunch tomorrow, we will have chicken and cheese tacos. Finally, our students in grades 3-5 have an opportunity to compete in a STEM challenge at Glenwood Park, where they have to construct a small boat to race. Boats can be no more than 20 inches wide and no longer than 24 inches long. With that being said, we need your help! We are in need of items students can use to construct their boats. We need plastic containers, such as milk jugs, 2 liter bottles, etc., straws, foil, egg cartons, cardboard, bubble wrap, Styrofoam, balloons, craft sticks, duct tape, pool noodles, soda bottles or cans, and rubber bands. Students will have the opportunity to practice before the race day. Thank you for your continued support!

Good evening LMS families! We have several announcements to share with you. Beginning tomorrow, grades 3-5 will start their West Virginia General Summative Assessment end of year test. Third and fourth graders will test tomorrow through Thursday and fifth graders will test tomorrow through Friday. Please make sure your child comes to school and arrives on time. It is important that our students try their very best. Encourage your child to take their time, read carefully, and work out the problems. We ask that your child get a good nights rest this week so they are rested up. Next, as a reminder, there is no tutoring this week and next week is the last week of tutoring for this school year. Finally, after some repairs, our gym is open for PE again. We have PE on Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday. Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on PE days. Good evening LMS families! We are planning a school, family, and community event on May 18, 2023 at 5:15 P.M. Family and community members are invited to sing with our students. Dinner and dessert will be provided for everyone attending. Those singing will also receive a t-shirt. Information is going home today and you may enter the information from the scan code or return the form by Monday, May 1, so we know how many to plan for. We look forward to seeing you at our event!

LMS families, we have an important announcement regarding buses. Please listen to the entire message. If your child rides bus 640 and 664, please listen carefully. Beginning tomorrow, April 19, there will be some changes.
BUS 664- LARRY SHREWSBURY WILL TRANPSORT THE KIDS WHO LIVES OFF OF REESE HARMON RIDGE ROAD IN THE MORNING AND EVENING. HE SHOULD ARRIVE AT REESE HARMON RIDGE AT APPROXIMATELY 6:20 A.M. TO START PICK UP. FOR DROP OFF, HE WILL PICK THE STUDENTS UP AT THE SCHOOL AT 2:50 AND WILL START DROP OFFS AT REESE HARMON AT 3:00. FOR LARRY'S RUN AT ROCK ROAD AND CEMETARY HILL, HE MAY BE A LITTLE LATER PICKING THEM UP OF THE MORNINGS.
BUS 651- BILL HORNE WILL TRANSPORT ALL THE KIDS WHO LIVE OFF OF BICKNAL FLATS IN MORNING AND ONLY THE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL KIDS IN THE EVENING.
BUS 656- WAYLON CARTER WILL TRANSPORT THE ELEMENTARY KIDS WHO LIVE OFF OF BICKNAL FLATS IN THE EVENING ONLY.
BUS 605- ADAM HOWELL- WILL TRANSPORT STUDENTS THAT LIVE OFF OF WINOAK AND GIATTO ROAD THAT TYPICALLY RODE LARRY SHREWSBURY'S BUS-664.
The times for pick up and drop off will vary until the route becomes familiar to the drivers but they plan to stay as close to the pick up and drop off times as possible. Please be patient while we work through this change.

Good evening LMS families! Bus 640 will not be running tomorrow. They are hoping to have this issue resolved in the next day or so. We are still selling yearbooks for $20. Hello LMS families! We hope everyone had a relaxing spring break. Just as a reminder, we will have licensed hair dressers at school to provide free haircuts to our students tomorrow. We must have a signed permission form before we can allow your child to receive a haircut. The form for this went home before break. Please send it back to school tomorrow or call Teresa first thing tomorrow morning to give your child permission. Next, since we didn't use all of our snow days this year, the last day of school for students is scheduled for June 6. This week, we will send home a list of end of year important dates. Finally, tutoring for tomorrow is cancelled. Have a great evening!

Hello LMS families! As a reminder, tomorrow is a two hour early dismissal; therefore, we will not be selling ice cream. Next week, April 10-14 is Spring Break. On Monday, April 17, the day we return from spring break, we will have licensed hair dressers here to provide free haircuts to our students. The form for this is coming home today. Please send it back to school tomorrow or the morning of the hair cuts.

With that being said, for the rest of this week, students will enter and be dismissed from the cafeteria. Please be patient as pick up may be a little slower than normal. LMS parents, we are needing to get a count as to how many students plan to attend our summer Thrive program. A letter went home earlier in the week with this information. Our summer program is June 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23. Regional bus transportation will be provided. Please return the form by Tuesday morning. You may also call the school to let us know. The lunch menu for Monday is marinated meatballs, garlic bread, tossed salad, corn on the cob, and fruit. Have a great weekend!
