Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 22, we are having a blue out to support our Lady Indians basketball team. Please have your child wear blue to school. Everyone is invited to attend their game tomorrow night at 6:00 P.M. at Mercer School. They will be playing the lady Owls of Oakvale. Come show your school spirit and support!
Good evening Lashmeet Matoaka families! We have a menu change this week. Tomorrow we will have tomato soup, hot ham and cheese sandwich, steamed broccoli, caesar salad, fruit, and milk. Good evening Lashmeet Matoaka families! Tomorrow, November 9 is picture day. We are asking staff and students to wear blue tomorrow in memory of Catherine Selen, a Mercer County Schools teacher who passed away this weekend. Thursday, November 10 is a two hour early dismissal and Friday, November 11 is Election day. There will be no school on Friday, November 11. We will not sell popcorn on Thursday due to the early dismissal.

Hello Lashmeet Matoaka Families! The pizza kits have been delivered and sorted. You may begin picking up the kits now until 3:00. Our Little Caesars pizza kits will be delivered tomorrow. They should be sorted and ready for pick up by 1:00. Please plan to have someone available to pick up your child's kits by 1:00 because they need to be refrigerated promptly. We ask that all kits are picked up by no later than 3:00. Kits will not be sent home with students on the bus. We have had to make a change to the time of our drive by Vetetan's day program. it will be from 9:30-10:30 on Thursday, November 10. Please make sure you return your form so we know how many to expect.

Good evening! Tomorrow's lunch menu is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fruit, chips, and milk. Your child will be bringing home a paper concerning the drive by Veteran's Day program. If you or a family member plan to attend, please return those so we have an accurate count as to how many to expect. Tomorrow is say boo to drugs! Wear your school approved Halloween costume. Remember, no revealing clothing, no glitter or face paint. Students must be able to sit, walk, breathe, see and hear. No masks! Students must wear appropriate shoes. No pretend props such as weapons, pistols, knives, swords, or fake blood. No offensive or inappropriate costumes. Scary costumes are not to be worn. This includes clowns. Students who wear costumes that do not follow the guidelines will be asked to remove their costumes. Classroom parties are from 1:00-2:00. Parents can enter the building at 12:50. You must sign in and receive a visitor sticker before you are allowed down the hallway. Visitor stickers must be worn at all times. At 1:00 you will be allowed to go to your child's classroom. If you wish to sign your child out early, you can do so with your child's teacher.

Good evening from Lashmeet Matoaka School! This week is red ribbon week. Tomorrow we ask that students wear red. Wednesday is team up against drugs. Students and faculty can wear their favorite sports team shirt or jersey. Thursday is sock it to drugs! Wear crazy socks on Thursday. Friday is say boo to drugs and students and faculty can wear their school approved costume. Classroom Halloween parties will be Friday at 1:00. A survey from the WVDE will be posted to our school Facebook page this evening for parents. Please take the time to take this survey. It is important to us to see your thoughts and opinions about our school. The pizza kits from the PTO fundraiser will be delivered on Wednesday, November 2 at 8:30 A.M. This is an important message from Lashmeet Matoka School. Adam Howell's bus 6 0 5 has a flat tire. Larry Shrewsbury will be bringing his kids home. Good evening! We have some information and reminders to share with you. First, Friday, October 21 is a 2 hour early dismissal. Next, we have a menu change for Thursday, October 20. We will have turkey and cheese sandwich with lettuce and tomato, carrot sticks with dip, nacho cheese Doritos, and a frozen fruit cut. We have been invited to participate in the Pikeview High School Homecoming parade tomorrow night, Wednesday, October 19. We have a parent that will take their truck and pull behind trailer for the students to ride on. The parade will go from Concord University to Athens school. If your child wants to participate we will need you to meet us at Concord University in the parking lot near their football field at 5:00 tomorrow evening. Since this is late notice we ask that all students have an adult chaperone to walk behind the truck and trailer. If we have a large amount of students show up, we will have the older students walk in the parade. If you would like to purchase candy for the students to throw as they are riding in the parade that would be awesome!
