Mercer County: BUS INFORMATION for Thursday, March 21st: This affects Bluefield Primary, Bluefield Intermediate, Bluefield Middle and Bluefield High. Bus 673 will not run today; however: Students who are transported to and from Princeton Avenue, Grant Street Bridge, and Wayne Street will ride bus 659 with Pam Scott. Students who are transported to and from Bland Street and College Avenue will ride bus 663 with Eric Poe. Students who are transported to and from Ridgemont will ride bus 629 with Doug Cook.

Students who are transported to Hardees/Salvation Army, CASE WV/Captain D's, MLK Bridge/Bluefield Transit, Allen Street and Park Street will ride bus 673. Students who are transported to Tiffany Manor and Bluefield State will ride bus 663. These changes are only for this afternoon.

Good evening Beaver Kit families! This call is to inform you that the WVDOH will begin paving Cumberland Road starting tomorrow and throughout the week. Please continue to use the appropriate parent loop for drop offs and pick ups. We don't know the times they will be working so please make arrangements accordingly and consider that it may take some extra time for pick ups and drop offs. We appreciate your support and patience.

Good evening Beaver Kit families! Thank you for following the changes we began today. For the first day it went very smoothly. Your support is greatly appreciated as we work together to keep our students and staff as safe as possible.

Good evening Beaver Kit Families! Your child should have brought home a very important letter today with some reminders or new steps we will be taking. One important change is the parent loop in the mornings. Beginning Monday, February 26, the gym doors will remain open until 7:30 so please use the loop at the gym to keep the front of the building free of congestion for our buses. The parent loop should only be one line and no passing is permitted. Please have your child completely ready to exit the vehicle upon pulling up. If we keep the line moving consistently and safely we will avoid accidents and congestion. Staff will not be helping students out of the vehicles unless asked to do so by the parent/guardian. Students are not allowed to be dropped off prior to 6:45 because there is no one here for supervision and that is a safety concern. Please call the school if you have any questions. Hello BPS Families!! Tomorrow, January 17, 2024, will be a Reimagined Day. All students will stay home, and faculty/staff will report on a 2-hour delay schedule. In the future, we will have our students learn remotely via TEAMS. However, we wanted our first Reimagined Day to be a schoolwide activity. If you can, please have your students draw a picture of their favorite winter-related activity. When our students return to school, they will share their drawings with their classmates. Please have fun and let your child use their creativity. We look forward to seeing their wonderful drawings! :)

Hello BPS Families! Strawbridge Photography will be at BPS on Tuesday, November 28. They will take pictures of any student who missed our original picture day. Also, if you would like your child's school pictures retaken, your child can get their picture retaken on this day. Please send a note to the school if you want to have their photo retaken. Thank you!
