We will have our first LSIC meeting on Thursday!

Wellness Wednesday – Connections Matter
This week, Mercer County Schools students are learning that no one has to face tough times alone and recognizing that connections matter. Younger students are identifying five trusted people they can turn to when they feel worried or sad, while older students are reflecting on who is “in their corner” during tough times. Families can support this at home by talking with children about who they can reach out to when they need help and by reminding them that they are never alone.
K–5: drawing “Helping Hands” to identify five trusted people
6–12: listing who’s “in their corner”
When we know who we can turn to, we feel stronger and more supported. Let’s remind one another: You are never alone.

This week, Mercer County Schools students are learning that stress is normal—and that healthy coping skills help us stay balanced.
• K–5: practicing “Breathing Balloons”
• 6–12: brainstorming quick, healthy stress-busters
Let’s support our students by modeling positive coping strategies and reminding them: You are never alone.

During the month of September, we will be celebrating "Wellness Wednesday" for Suicide Awareness month.
This week’s focus: Feelings Are Real, and They Matter.
Students across Mercer County Schools are learning that all feelings—happy, sad, worried, mad, excited—are normal and important. By naming our emotions and talking about them, we build strength and healthy coping skills.
Let’s support one another by checking in, listening, and reminding each other: Your feelings matter.

You can now fill out all beginning of the year paperwork online instead of filling out the paper forms! You can do this through our new parent portal at https://mcboe.us/parent_portal.

Showing up on time every day is important to your child’s success and learning from preschool forward.
Missing 10% of school (1 or 2 days every few weeks) can make it harder to:
• Gain early reading and math skills.
• Build relationships.
• Develop good attendance habits.
High quality preschool and kindergarten has many benefits!
• The routines your child develops will continue throughout school.
• Make the most of early grades by encouraging your child to attend every day.
