Mr. Toman had his first meeting for the 2022-2023 school year with the Bluefield High Student Advisory Council. These students have great input into the future of Mercer County Schools! A big thank you to El Patio for hosting us.

Princeton High School is having a routine, practice lockdown. Law enforcement and canines are on the premises. There is no threat.
Lashmeet Matoaka School showed their appreciation to Veterans by hosting a drive by Veterans Parade. All Veterans received a coffee mug and a thank you note or picture from one or more students. A video was also made and posted to their Facebook page to honor all Veterans.

Mercer County's grades 3-8 participation in robotics has grown! Last year, four schools (18-20 teams) had robotics teams and this year, 14 schools (42 teams) are participating. More students have the opportunity to learn about and compete in robotics!
Central Office staff participated in College Colors Day!
Due to a power outage, Princeton Senior High School will dismiss at 1:15 today, Friday, November 4th. No other schools are affected.
Thank you to Community Connections, Inc.; Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Center; West Virginia State Police; Mercer County Sheriff's Department WV, Princeton; WV Police Department; City of Princeton WV Fire Department; Bluefield, WV Police Department; Bluefield Professional Fire Fighters Local 347; Child Protect CAC/Starting Points FRC; Princeton Rescue Squad, Inc.; Bluefield Rescue Squad; and City of Princeton, Local Government for hosting the C.A.R.E. Event. Students were able to enjoy time getting to know our first responders with carnival games, refreshments, and an opportunity to see police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles.

The Mercer County Academy of Adult Learning is sponsoring a College Fair tomorrow, Thursday, November 3 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. This is open to all adults who would like to see what options for further training are available in our area.
