Jeremy Thompson, a 2016 Bluefield High School graduate, spoke to four of Ms. Williams' classes on Monday. Mr. Thompson has degrees in criminal justice and business administration from High Point University and now lives and works in Washington DC. He shared about the various ways to define success and some personal habits that will ensure achieving it including goal setting and time management. Thank you, Mr. Thompson!
Mercer County Schools’ administration acknowledges allegations that an employee made an inappropriate statement to a student. We are actively investigating, and it is premature to discuss the investigation prior to its completion. Notwithstanding, the school system responds to the media’s recent request for comment to assure citizens that it takes this allegation seriously, and that Mercer County Schools is committed to swiftly and thoroughly investigating claims of this nature.

Mercer County Schools understands families' frustrations regarding canceling of bus runs. We currently do not have many substitute bus drivers. Unfortunately when last minute cancellations happen due to illness or emergency and all substitutes are being used, we have no choice but to cancel the route. We are always accepting applications for substitute bus operators, cooks, custodians, secretaries, and teachers.
