The Network for new teachers and their mentors gathered Monday evening for their second meeting! It was a beneficial event to start the new year with sessions on mentorship, classroom management strategies, social/emotional mindful management, and a math lesson modeled by MCPS 2020 Teacher of the Year, Amanda Reed. We are excited to watch this meaningful initiative continue to grow for our teachers!








Ms. Caitlyn Shrewsbury, PTO President of Lashmeet Matoaka School, was recognized for her tireless work of organizing events and fundraisers to support the students of LMS.

Mercer County Schools Bus Operator, Adam Howell, was recognized as part of the 110% Club for going above and beyond for the students in his care. He was nominated by Lashmeet Matoaka principal Leann Taylor. She said, “The world needs more Adam Howells in it.”

The Mercer County Board of Education recognized Julie Miller from Glenwood School for renewing her National Board Certification in Mathematics/Early Adolescence. Congratulations!

BHS’s Ty Patton was recognized at tonight’s Mercer County Board of Education meeting for being named to the Class AA Football All-State Team-1st Team. Congratulations!

PSHS’s Chance Barker, Brad Mosser, Daniel Jennings, Kalum Kiser and Marquel Lowe were recognized at tonight’s Mercer County Board of Education meeting for being named to the Class AAA Football All-State Team-1st Team. Congratulations!

🔧 Mechanical Room Work: Systems are being installed to ensure everything runs smoothly.
🏫 Main Entrance Ready for Rock Face: The front entrance is prepped and ready for its beautiful finishing touches!
🌬️ Duct Installation in 2nd Floor C Wing: Air ducts are going in to support a comfortable learning environment.
🎨 Drywall Finishing: The walls are getting closer to completion.
🛣️ Temporary Road Maintenance: Ensuring safe and smooth access for construction vehicles.
