Late last night (11:15 pm), Princeton High School’s principal, Ms. Zickafoose was alerted about a threat posted on social media. Ms Zickafoose consulted with our Safety Coordinator, Melissa Clemons, and state agencies. After a thorough investigation, it was determined the threat was NOT towards PSHS. The threat was directed towards PHHS, a school outside of West Virginia. Out of an abundance of caution, there will be additional law enforcement present at Princeton High School today. Released by Edward Toman, Superintendent February 22, 2024 6:30 am

A routine, practice lockdown is being conducted at Princeton High School. K-9 units are present. There is no threat.

Information on Princeton area schools lockdown 2/17/23:
A student in the office area of Princeton Senior High School became aggressive and disrespectful to the administration. The student left the office without permission. The School Resource Officer attempted to intervene with the student, and the student became physically aggressive. Contrary to rumor, there was not a weapon involved at the school.
In an unrelated incident that occurred almost simultaneously, Princeton Police notified our Schools Safety Director and advised Princeton area schools go on cautionary lockdown due to a person in Princeton brandishing a weapon from a vehicle. The police apprehended the suspect and lockdowns were lifted. Precautionary lockdowns due to an outside threat means exterior doors are secure, students remain in classrooms, and instruction is not interrupted.
