Princeton Senior High

The Champions of Learning Gala is coming up on Tuesday, September 8, in Charleston, where the 2027 West Virginia Teacher of the Year will be announced!

Our own Laura Presley of Princeton Senior High School will attend with her family and Superintendent Toman as she represents Mercer County Public Schools among West Virginia’s outstanding educators.

We are incredibly proud of Laura and will be cheering her on from home!

You can join us by watching the gala live on WOWK’s homepage or WOWK’s Facebook page.

Good luck, Laura! Mercer County is cheering for you! 💙💛

Good afternoon, this is Princeton Senior High School with an important announcement about student parking passes.
Parking passes will go on sale next week from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Seniors may purchase their pass on Tuesday, August 11, juniors on Wednesday, August 12, and underclassmen on Thursday, August 13. Parking passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cost $75. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Please remember that parking passes must be purchased in person, and students may only purchase their own parking pass. A completed parking pass application and valid proof of insurance are required at the time of purchase. Applications are available in the school office or may be downloaded from the school website. Thank you, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for a great school year.

🌄 Attention Mercer County 9th & 10th Graders! 🌄

Do you love travel, adventure, photography, social media, or exploring the beauty of West Virginia? Then the WV Governor’s School for Tourism might be for you!

This FREE 10-day summer program (June 20–29, 2026) takes students across West Virginia to explore state parks, iconic landmarks, outdoor recreation, and tourism careers. Students stay in state park lodges, meet industry professionals, and help develop ideas to promote tourism in our state.

Only one freshman or sophomore from each county is selected — and the entire experience is paid for. Students who participate also serve as WV Tourism student ambassadors for the following year.

📅 Application Deadline: May 1, 2026
📍 See your school counselor for details on how to apply.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience “Almost Heaven” like never before!
