Good afternoon 7th and 8th grade parents. We are very excited to see you this evening from 4:30-6:30pm at Princeton Middle School. All students must have a parent or guardian to accompany them for the Parent Teacher Conference night. We will have information on free sports physicals, next year scheduling, current grades and performance. We will have a sign in sheet by the front office. Make sure to sign in to be entered into a few prize drawings for your student tomorrow. Thank you very much!

Students in Mr. O’Dell’s Project Lead The Way “Design & Modeling” class were tasked with solving an instant design challenge. The challenge – understand and define the needs of a person with a physical challenge, then design, build, and test a prototype to help that person. Given a specific set of design requirements, students worked in groups to develop an “Ankle Foot Orthosis” prototype. The prototype was to be designed for an individual with cerebral palsy in order to help that individual place their foot flat on the floor when standing to keep them from walking on their toes. After learning about cerebral palsy, students were given a specific set of supplies to use for their design. Students drew a model of their proposed design, worked together as a team to build the prototype and then presented and explained their prototype to the class.

Mrs. Grogan's students requested to work together while using whiteboards provided with iReady curriculum.  During Lesson 8 they took a moment to have a Slope Bingo party with homemade Gormet popcorn and some friendly competition, celebrating growth on MOY iReady and rise/run.

Thanks to MCTEC, Mr. O'Dell received shelves for his Project Lead the Way supplies! Mr. O'Dell's 8th grade class used critical thinking (does this look right?), reading (directions) & engineering (what if I did it this way?) skills to assemble them in ONE period for him! :)

Mr. O'Dell's classes have been preparing for group work for Code and Project Lead the Way. Today, students had to work in groups to design an aluminum foil boat and see how many pennies they could get to float before it sank! (This activity is also a Jason Learning activity!)

Mr. O'Dell's classes have been working with Micro:bits, which are small, computer-chip-like devices that introduce students to how software and hardware work together and have an LED light display, buttons, and many input/output features students can program to do various things!
