Montcalm Families, If your child is in the sixth grade, they are required to have specific vaccinations before entering their 7th grade year. If possible these vaccinations should be completed by the end of this school year. You will need proof of having a booster dose of the Tdap vaccination (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Acellular Pertussis) and the first dose of MCV4 (Meningococcal/Meningitis). No seventh grader will be allowed to enter school or participate in fall practice/sports or extracurricular activities without proof of immunization.

We would like to congratulate our winner of our final Book Blast Treasure Chest, Michael Herron! We would also like to congratulate our winner of the grand prize i Pad, Tucker Havens! “Let’s blow our Book Blast out of the water! We have only a few days left, so now is the time to act. If you would still like to contribute to the event, please do so through the invitation from your favorite student or make a school wide contribution: https://bit.ly/StudentsAtMontcalmElem. You have until Sunday night at midnight to contribute. Thank you to everyone in our community and beyond that has contributed to our Book Blast event! Your support has helped every student to go home with at least one new, exciting book to read, and some students will earn up to 10. With a focus on the promotion of literacy and reading, a new book is like gold to be treasured!”

Montcalm Families, yesterday permission slips went home for the Drug-Free All-Stars basketball game. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected change of venue we will only be able to to take grades 3-6 to the game. If your child is in PK-2 there is no need to return the permission slip. We apologize for the confusion. The game will now be held at the Bluefield University Gymnasium.
