Today, May 11th, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department will conduct safety walkthroughs for Montcalm Elementary School. This is a precautionary practice so local law enforcement is familiar with each of our schools if an emergency arises. There is no threat and instruction will not be interrupted. Please contact the school with any questions.

The Mercer County Schools Wellness Council in collaboration with MCTEC's carpentry classes, our maintenance department, Oakvale Elementary, and Montcalm Elementary have completed a blessing box project for the Oakvale and Montcalm communities. Students spent time this morning stocking the boxes with pantry items. The students at each school will take on painting the boxes their school colors as well. A blessing box is a "Little Free Pantry", which provides nonperishable food (like cereal, canned soup, pasta, granola bars, etc.) as well as hygiene items (including shampoo, soap, toothbrushes/toothpaste, toilet paper. etc.) to local residents when they need them. Each box is located in front of the schools for easy accessibility. The next blessing box that we install will be located between PPS and PSHS.

You have until Sunday night at midnight to contribute.
Thank you to everyone in our community and beyond that has contributed to our Book Blast event!
