Montcalm Families, please take a moment and read over this important information from Mercer County Schools.
Montcalm Families, a power pole is down across the road on Browning Lambert Mountain. Students from Montcalm Elementary who live on Browning Lambert Mountain and ride bus 689, must be picked up by their parent or guardian at the school this afternoon. The bus will still run, but it will not run on Browning Lambert Mountain. Those students will be sent to the cafeteria to be parent pickups.
Montcalm Families, this is a reminder that our Spring Nursery Rhyme Fling will be tomorrow evening from 5pm until 6:30pm. We hope you are able to make it out to this Title I Parent and Family Engagement event.
Montcalm Families, as many of you already know, we are under a boil water advisory at the school. We do have bottled water available for students throughout the day as well as plenty of hand sanitizer. If you have questions please call the school.

Montcalm Families, this is a reminder that the Trash 2 Treasure competition for the school will be held tomorrow. Projects must be set up in the cafeteria by 8am tomorrow in order to be judged. They must also have an abstract with them. Teachers will have extras at the school if they are needed. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.
Montcalm Families, mark your calendars for our Spring Nursery Rhyme Fling! March 26th 2024 from 5pm-6:30pm.
Montcalm Families, this is a friendly reminder of two important issues. To begin, third through sixth graders will be taking part in the WVGSA Writing Assessment on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. Please make every attempt to have your student at school and on time and make sure they get plenty of rest the night before.
Second, parent pickup vehicles need to remain in the lot at the softball field until all buses are parked. If cars come up too early, it causes buses to not be able to get parked safely before the bell rings. Thank you for your consideration in these two matters.
Montcalm Families, bus 599 is stuck in traffic due to a wrecked coal truck. This has delayed them approximately 30 minutes already, but they are still at a standstill. Those students will be brought home as soon as the bus is able to move again. Thank you for your patience.
Montcalm Families, after school tutoring for this week will be moved from its usual day. Tutoring will be tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27th 2024 after school. Thank you for your understanding.
Montcalm Families, this is a reminder that bus 681, Mr. Horton's bus, will not run this afternoon. Bus 660, Mrs. Peter's bus, will transport those students home. This will affect the time that students who ride bus 681 arrive home. We appreciate your patience.

Montcalm Families, students who ride bus 599 will be late today due to that bus not running. Bus 689 will be dropping off students who live on Lorton Lick and bus 593 will be dropping of students in the Windmill Gap area. We appreciate your patience.
Montcalm Families, the primary phones are currently down at the school due to line damage in the area. In the meantime, if you have a need to contact the school, you may call (304) 589-7095. This is not an every day phone number, but it will be available today if you must speak to someone at the school. We will post an update when the primary phones are back online.
Montcalm Families, after school tutoring will begin tomorrow for our 2nd through 5th grade students. Tutoring will run from 2:45pm-3:45pm. No buses will run so students need to be picked up promptly at 3:45 pm. Kindergarten and 1st grade will begin next week.
Montcalm Families, Bus 614, Kevin Kendrick, has broken down on Sandlick Road. A replacement bus is on the way, but Mr. Kendrick's run will be delayed.

PK-2nd grade families will attend from 5:00 - 6:00 pm and 3rd - 6th grade families will attend from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. Families will need to bring their student's device (laptop or iPad) to the training. Ms. Kaila Hardin will assist families with learning the ins and outs of Schoology, Clever, and other apps and websites students use during school. Please make plans to join us! We will have a Christmas craft for the students and plenty of soup! See you then!
