Have a great day!
#MissingSchoolMissingOut

Good evening! We are so excited to start the school year! We have missed our students this summer. I want to take a couple of minutes to share some important information and reminders. Our school day is 7:25-2:20. Students are not allowed to be dropped off before 7:05. Tardy bell rings at 7:30.
Your child’s safety is our top priority. Remember when you drop off or pick up your child from the loop, you must wait until the car in front of you pulls out. No one is allowed to pass vehicles in the loop. If you or someone else comes to pick up your child, if we do not recognize you, we will ask for your identification. This is to ensure that we only allow your child to leave with those who have permission. We want to keep them safe! If you enter the school, everyone must first check in at the office. No one is allowed to be in the school without checking in at the office and receiving a visitors pass. Visitors are not allowed to be down the halls for any reason unless it is a scheduled appointment with your child’s teacher. If your child is tardy or if you pick up your child early, Teresa will meet you at the door in order to sign your child in or out.
Students will be eating lunch in the cafeteria this year. With that being said, we do not have a way to heat any food in your child’s packed lunch. If your child has something in their pack lunch that needs to stay warm, it will need to be kept in a thermos.
The first day of preschool is Tuesday, August 30. Kindergarten and Pre K parents...you are allowed to walk your child into school on the first day, only. You may walk them to their class but please say a quick goodbye at the classroom door so they can get their day started. You must park in the teacher parking lot. Parking in the loop is not allowed.
We will continue to sell ice cream on Fridays. The cost will be $1.50. This will begin Sept. 2. Popcorn will be sold for $1.00. You will be notified of the day of the week it will be sold.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a great year.
Did you know that being in school all day every day is the best way to prepare your child for the future? Education opens a whole new world!

Good evening! This is Mrs. Taylor from Lashmeet Matoaka School. Tomorrow for lunch we will have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, carrots, grapes, and a capri sun. If your child has medications kept in the office, they must be picked up by the parent or guardian. We cannot send them home with the students. We still have yearbooks for sale for $16. We are excited for our fun day tomorrow, we will be using the circle area in front of the school. Therefore, all guests must park in the lower end of the parking lot. Please do not drive toward the front of the building because it will be sectioned off after morning arrival. Also, please send a complete change of clothes with your child tomorrow including shoes and a towel. Sunscreen is also advised. Remember we will be giving away 4 bikes, a laptop and a virtual reality headset. Have a great evening!
