Good evening Lashmeet Matoaka families! We have a couple of important announcements for you. We hope you all can join us tomorrow from 3:00-5:00 for our annual meet the teacher event. As we start the school year, please be patient with our bus drivers. It may take a week or so to get their actual pick up and drop off times accurate. I would be at the bus stop several minutes early to ensure you are there when they come by. We do have some changes to our bus routes. Students that rode bus 664 and live on Cemetery Hill will now ride Adam Howell's bus 605 from the Matoaka Fire Department stop. Students that rode on Bus 664 and live on Rock Road/Route 71 will now ride Adam Howell's bus 605 at the same spots.
Student that rode on bus 665 and live in Lake Bottom will be picked up by Mark Selvey around 7:10 A.M. at the same spots. Waylon Carter, bus 656 will be running about 10 minutes early. As a reminder, students cannot be dropped off at the loop before 6:05 A.M. Our tardy bell rings at 7:30 and dismissal is at 2:20. We look forward to our students heading back to school and we anticipate having a great year!
Come join us at one of our Community Outreach Bus locations!

We hope you plan to join us for our end of year celebration, tomorrow from 8:30-2:00. We will have our school fun day which will be water themed this year. If you are scheduled to help, please be here at 8:00 AM. Students should wear clothes to get wet in and shoes appropriate for water activities (flip flops, crocs or sandals). No boots as they could tear the water slide. There will be lots of fun stations! Snacks will be provided! We will have an awesome FOAM machine! Make sure to bring a towel and a complete change of clothes. There will not be time to make calls home for clothing needs so plan ahead and be prepared to have a wonderful time as we slip and slide our way into summer break.

Good evening families of 5th grade students. We are super excited for the fifth grade field trip tomorrow. Just a couple of reminders...Drop off time is 3:50 A.M. Please do not bring your child before 3:50 A.M. A staff member will need to have room to pull in and unlock the gate. The bus will promptly leave LMS at 4:00 A.M. The charter bus will be in the parent loop. Please park in the teacher parking lot, for drop off and pick up, to ensure the safety of students entering and exiting the bus. Our estimated time of return to LMS is 11:30-12:00. Students are allowed to bring their cell phone with several stipulations. First, they must be responsible for their phones. We will not be responsible for lost or stolen phones. Students must use headphones or earbuds to minimize distractions. Students must follow the MCBOE policy. If a student is suspected to have violated this policy, the phone will be taken. Students are not allowed to photograph other students or video other students, and finally, phones are not allowed in the restrooms. Have a great evening!

Prek and Kinder families. We are still planning our field trip for tomorrow. Please make sure your child has a labeled bag with a towel, sunscreen, a complete change of clothes. If they can wear their swimsuit under their clothes to school that would be helpful. If you are planning on attending, you may bring these items with you. The school is providing lunch but you may send lunch in a brown paper bag if they wish to eat something else. Our plans for tomorrow is leaving the school about 830 and splash pad 9 to 11, change and dry off 11 to 1130 and picnic and play 1130/1. You may take your child with you after the field trip however you must sign them out with their teacher before you leave. Thank you!

Please have all donations to the school by June 1. Thank you for your support!
Good evening LMS families! This is just a friendly reminder that there will be cap and gown pictures tomorrow, for those who purchased them, for PK and Kindergarten students. Have a great evening!
Good evening. This message is for 2nd grade families. Tomorrow is our field trip and I wanted to let you know of some reminders: please wear an LMS or blue shirt and tennis shoes. Send your child with a disposable bag with a lunch if they don't want to eat a hot dog at Berkshires. If you have not paid your seven dollar donation, please send it in tomorrow. Thank you. Good evening LMS families! Tomorrow, students in grades 3-5 will have a testing olympics. All students will need to wear tennis shoes, bring a beach towel to sit on, and wear comfortable clothes. Please make sure all clothing follows Mercer County School's dress code policy. If your child puts his or her hands down by their side, the students shorts and skirts must not be above the longest finger. Also, the straps on shirts must be three fingers wide on each side. One last reminder, tomorrow is a two hour early dismissal. Have a great evening!
Good evening LMS families! We have a change to the lunch menu tomorrow. We will be having hotdogs instead of pigs in a blanket. As a reminder, Friday, May 12 is a two hour early dismissal. Also, it is that time of year where ticks are starting to be seen. Students do play outside on days we have nice weather. When your child arrives home, please check to make sure your child doesn't have any ticks. Thank you for your support!
All of Adam Howell's students on bus 605 are now on bus 664. He is making his run on Reese Harmon Ridge then he will bring Adam's students home.
LMS families, Adam Howell's bus 605 is broke down. Someone is on their way to bring him another bus.
Good evening LMS families! I have a couple of reminders and important dates to share with you. First, this week is the last week of tutoring. Next, this Friday, May 12, is a two hour early out. The last day for Bible Club is Wednesday, May 31. For lunch tomorrow, we will have chicken and cheese tacos. Finally, our students in grades 3-5 have an opportunity to compete in a STEM challenge at Glenwood Park, where they have to construct a small boat to race. Boats can be no more than 20 inches wide and no longer than 24 inches long. With that being said, we need your help! We are in need of items students can use to construct their boats. We need plastic containers, such as milk jugs, 2 liter bottles, etc., straws, foil, egg cartons, cardboard, bubble wrap, Styrofoam, balloons, craft sticks, duct tape, pool noodles, soda bottles or cans, and rubber bands. Students will have the opportunity to practice before the race day. Thank you for your continued support!
