Mr. Greg Prudich was first elected to the Mercer County Board of Education in 1998 and currently serves as the board president. Since being elected, he has given much attention to Technical Education in adding new programs, developing embedded credit, expanding dual credit opportunities, and in working to further strengthen the Mercer County Technical Education Center. Through his work with the Technical High School Feasibility Study Committee, his vision for students to graduate high school with a marketable skill, college credit, or even an associate's degree has become a reality.

Mr. Prudich is a substitute teacher for Mercer County Schools and has covered classrooms all across the county. He does not receive payment for this service. He enjoys spending time in the classroom to understand what teachers need to make their classrooms better.

Mr. Prudich has served on various boards and local entities including CASE of Southern West Virginia, the Mercer County Fire Service Board, and the Southern Regional Community Connections Board. One of his proudest associations is having guided the local Little League Baseball program to state prominence.

Mr. Prudich's dedication to staying current with the latest research-based educational programs is reflected in his work as a school board member. he constantly seeks best practices and innovative methods for the classroom, understanding the importance of preparing students for the future in an ever-evolving educational landscape. His passion for education is clear from his decades of service to Mercer County Schools, where he has consistently advocated for both students and employees. Mr. Prudich's commitment, hard work, and innovative thinking make him most deserving to be named the WV School Board Association Member of the Year Award.
