Virtual Reality Headsets
Virtual reality (VR) headsets give students an opportunity to explore lands far away. Students can go to the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. without traveling a single mile through virtual reality.
VR headsets are essentially head mounted computer displays. When students move their heads, their screen follows by using a technology called the six degrees of freedom (6Dof), giving them the feeling that they are actually there, looking around, exploring, traveling, and learning.
The destination is chosen as a class. Each student puts on his/her own VR headset and follows along with the storyline provided by the teacher. As a class, students go room to room together, going over the narrative for that room for that particular destination.
