Child Nutrition
The Child Nutrition department is made up of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.
Food and beverages served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of foods that meet daily health and nutrition needs.
Mercer County Schools participates in the Community Eligibility Program, therefore breakfast and lunch are provided to our students for free. Staff, Parents and Visitors are offered a meal of the same portions of high school students. The cost for breakfast is $2.85 and lunch is $3.75. Extra milk is $.25. If a student packs their lunch and would like to have a milk, they are welcome to purchase a milk for $.25.
