Ms. Perfin's class had a great time this week releasing their butterflies! They got to watch the full life cycle from caterpillar to butterfly!
Here we are- day 3 of Teacher Appreciation Week!!
Thank you to our principal, Mrs. Smith for our pimento cheese and chicken salad on croissants! (Can't lie, we pulled out the left over BBQ from Monday, Erica Morgan!) Our sweets were awesome! The eclair cake and peanut butter chews were EXCELLENT!! And we can't overlook the HUGE amount of cakes and cookies! We'll be snacking on those for a while! Leandra Gill and Tammy Coburn, you all rock! Thank you for making us feel special!
On the second day of Teacher Appreciation Week we'd like to shout out Amy Sparks, Brittany Chipman, and Jessica Barker for our pizza, chips, and sweets! (The brownies were a hit by the whole staff!) Thank you all!
(Belated) Teacher Appreciation Week at Straley School started today!
A big shout out goes to Erica Morgan, Leandra Gill, and Samantha Suroski for our wonderful BBQ, coleslaw, beans, and cupcakes! Thank you all for a wonderful meal! (It was so good, we forgot to take a picture!)
Yesterday, our very own Mrs. Suroski was (surprisingly) recognized at the Children's Memorial Flag Day Ceremony for her dedication to our community's children! This shows our community what we already know: Mrs. Suroski is awesome! We appreciate all of her hard work for our Straley and Mercer students!
The students you see with her are our choir members who were invited to perform a couple pieces for the ceremony! They did a beautiful job sharing their gift of music and adding a special touch to the event!

Yesterday, our third graders had a terrific walking field trip to Princeton Public Library! They got to hear from local author, Terry Bailey, from Covel, WV. Students learned about about the writing process to get a book published, West Virginia history and geography, and about the Gooney Otters found in Wyoming County!
Thank Princeton Public Library and Mr. Bailey for having us!
AFTERNOON BUS INFORMATION 3/28/23: Bus 579, which is a special needs bus and also drops off at daycare, will not run this afternoon. This affects Silver Springs, Mercer, Princeton Primary, Straley, and Princeton Middle.
