The Education Alliance Summer Internship Application is now open! Current 10th and 11th grade students can earn $16/hour while gaining real world technical and professional skills with some of the state's top employers: Appalachian Power, Toyota Motor Mfg. WV, and WV American Water. Students across WV can apply for internship options including 100% in-person internship, a hybrid internship (part in-person, part virtual), or a 100% virtual internship. Mr. Toman met with Montcalm High School's Student Advisory Council. These students had lots of great ideas to improve Mercer County Schools!
A big CONGRATULATIONS to the Robotics teams from PVMS, PMS, Mercer Elem and MHS who qualified to compete in the World Robotics Competition in Dallas, Texas in May. Mercer County Schools is covering the full cost of airfare, hotel and a per diem for meals for each student; however, any community member who wishes to donate towards students' snacks, team tee shirts, entrance fees to local attractions, etc. may do so. All students will have a free day while in Dallas for sight-seeing. These donations will be divided evenly among all students in each school. Donations may be made via check payable to Mercer County Schools with "Robotics" in the memo line. For more information, please contact Amy Harrison at aharriso@k12.wv.us.

Mark you calendars! On April 19, if anyone orders one of these 5 items at Applebee’s in Princeton for lunch or dinner, our local Kiwanis International organization will get 50% of the profit. Kiwanis International is the parent organization who helps fund scholarships and service projects for local Key Clubs. The MHS Key Club will benefit through a scholarship opportunity for our seniors. When someone orders, they will need to tell Applebee's which high school they are helping to raise money for. All high schools will be participating in this event.
