September 27, 2022: Last Spring, Montcalm High teachers Amanda Reed and Sarah Krondon applied for a grant through the State Farm Neighborhood Assist Program. In June, they were notified that Montcalm High School would receive $25,000 towards their project to build a greenhouse on school grounds.
Today, State Farm representatives presented the check to Mrs. Reed and Mrs. Krondon while Principal Beth Stone, Assistant Principal Lee Lewis, and students cheered on. Also in attendance were board member, Jim Bailey, Delegate Marty Gearheart, and a representative from Senator Shelley Moore Capito's office.
Students in grades 7-12 will utilize the green house, learning how to grow edible plants year-round. They will learn how to farm sustainably for their families and how to run a small business.
Please join us in congratulating Montcalm High School!
