As the school year begins to wind down, Mercer Elementary is gearing up for an exciting and activity-filled end-of-year season! Students, staff, and families can look forward to a calendar packed with celebrations, learning opportunities, and special events that highlight a year of hard work and Pirate Pride.
From academic milestones to fun-filled celebrations, there is truly something for everyone—and we invite our families to be a part of it all!
The end-of-year testing season kicks off in April with EOY i-Ready Testing (April 13–24), followed by a variety of engaging activities including Donut Delivery on April 20 🍩 and our Mother’s Day/Father’s Day Workshop (April 27–May 1). Our students will also continue participating in Good News Club sessions throughout April and May.
We are especially proud of our robotics team, who will be traveling to St. Louis from April 28–May 1 🤖 to compete on a larger stage—an incredible accomplishment for our students!
In May, students will complete the General Summative Assessment (May 4–15), while also enjoying memorable experiences like PE Field Day (May 19 🏃♂️), our Mobile Physical & Immunization Clinic (May 20), and a special Student Council service trip to Amy’s House of Hope (May 21). Our 5th graders will celebrate their year with a field trip on May 22 🎢, followed by hands-on learning during STEM Days (May 26–28 🔬) and a splash of fun at Water Day & Bounce Houses (May 29 💦).
June brings even more excitement as we celebrate our students’ achievements. Highlights include Spring Concert Practice (June 1 🎶) and the Spring Concert at the Chuck Mathena Center (June 2 🎤). Field trips for 3rd and 4th grade students will take place on June 3 and June 4, and we are looking forward to a possible Talent Show on June 8 🌟.
To wrap up the year, students will enjoy a School-Wide Field Trip (June 9) and Fun Day (June 10 🎉) before we honor our 5th grade students during their Graduation & Awards Day on June 11 🎓.
✨ We Need Our Pirate Families!
Many of these events would not be possible without the support of our amazing Mercer Elementary families. We will be seeking parent volunteers for several activities, and we would love to have you join us in making these moments extra special for our students.
📌 Mark your calendars, stay tuned for volunteer opportunities, and get ready to celebrate an incredible school year together!
At Mercer Elementary, we believe that a pirate is someone who has adventures, dreams big, and never gives up—and this end-of-year season will be full of all three.
🏴☠️💙 Let’s finish the year strong, Pirates!
