The 5th grade classrooms at Melrose School are buzzing with the sound of Market Days. Teachers Mrs. Janet Burton and Mrs. Rhonda Thomas taught lessons about economics including bartering, supply, and demand. The students created a business plan of the products they planned to sell at Market Days and got busy making their products. A customer could find homemade hand sanitizer, lip balm, pencil toppers, pet rocks, pencil holders, slime and bracelets. All grade levels got a chance to shop at Market Days, and many happy customers emerged with their newly purchased treasures.
These entrepreneurs have raised $1000 so far towards a 5th grade field trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
In other Melrose news, students created an "Under the Sea" display using everyday items to create fish, and other sea creatures!
