Homeschool is for parents or guardians who wish to educate their child or children in the home setting.  A notice of intent must be submitted to the county board if your child will be educated through traditional homeschool, a micro-school, or a learning pod. Minimum requirements include proof of high school diploma or GED credential.  An assessment or must be obtained on an annual basis. Assessments are submitted to the school district at the end of grades 3, 5, 8, and 11.  Mercer County Policy I-3 and WV Code Section 18-8-1 are the authority for homeschool.
