Check out our Wildcats honoring World Down Syndrome Day 2022!

Today is specifically about raising awareness and educating ourselves and others about Down Syndrome.

Thank you to everyone who wore their crazy, wacky, mismatched and brightly colored socks today!

SHOUT OUT to Dr. Workman who read the book entitled “We’ll Paint the Octopus Red” by Stephanie Stuve-Bodeen to all of our Kindergarten, First and Second graders this morning! The students enjoyed listening to the story and learning about Down Syndrome. The book tells a story about Emma, who is about to have a new baby brother named Isaac. Isaac is born with Down Syndrome and Emma is at first scared and a little sad as she had planned tons and tons of activities for them to do together. Emma quickly learns that Isaac is able to do all of the things she had planned and more! The book teaches us to honor and respect the differences all while being patient and helpful as we all need a little patience and help at times.
