We have some sad news to share with our Bluewell family.  Erlene Branch, the Foster Grandmother in Mrs. Caron's room, passed away on May 8, 2022.  Erlene was 83 years old and a shining star throughout our building.

Mrs. Erlene was born on August 3, 1938 in Oceana, West Virginia.  She lived most of her life in Bluefield, West Virginia, and she graduated from Beaver High School in 1955 and Bluefield State College in 1985.

In addition, she was a Deacon and Worship Leader at the First Presbyterian Church in Bluefield.  However, some of you may remember her unique, public role.

Mrs. Erlene hosted "Romper Room" and "Coffee Break" on WHIS/WVVA.  She was also the Continuity Director at WHIS/WVVA.  Later, she worked at Bluefield College in the Office of Admissions, as well as the Director for the Tazewell Area Chamber of Commerce and the Tazewell County Office on Youth.

Mrs. Erlene became a Foster Grandmother through the Council of the Southern Mountains.  During her time at Bluewell School, she positively impacted hundreds of young lives.

Bluewell School's faculty and staff send our love and condolences to Mrs. Erlene's daughter, Connie Branch.  We will miss her and hold her laughs, stories, and memories close to our hearts.  We will always love Mrs. Erlene!
