Bluewell School will have an LSIC/Leadership Team meeting this Thursday at 2:50 pm.  However, perhaps you've wondered what type of team this is for the school.  Let's find out!

LSIC stands for Local School Improvement Council, and it is required for each school in West Virginia to have one.  The team has teachers, service personnel, bus drivers, parents, business representatives, and community representatives.

Each year, we elect the representatives on our LSIC.  The team is involved with the operation of Bluewell School.   The LSIC reviews discipline data, encourages involvement of the school community, supports local initiatives for school improvement, and are directly involved with the strategic planning process.

Also, we meet with the local school board at an annual meeting.  At this meeting, the LSIC discusses academics, discipline, school climate, facilities, needs, improvement, and recommendations with the Mercer County Board of Education.

So, now you have a little more information about our LSIC/Leadership team's responsibilities.  As always, we try to keep you informed on all the "ins and outs" of Bluewell School!
