April is the “Month of the Military Child.” So, this month is a time to celebrate military kids’ resiliencies and honor their sacrifices.
The Month of the Military Child was created by former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger in the middle of the 1980s. Throughout April, the Pentagon and military support organizations recognize the more than 1.2 million military children. Indeed, these children overcome unique challenges and their sacrifices deserved to be acknowledged.
After all, children of military families experience long separation times from their parents. In addition, they must adjust to new schools, new lifestyles, and being miles away from loved ones. Therefore, military kids face challenges, loneliness, and frustration.
However, we at Bluewell Elementary School are honored to show support to military kids and families around the country. Hence, we will wear purple on Friday to show our care and devotion. Please, join us as we will flood social media with our pictures!
