As Princeton Senior High School gears up for its blood drive this Friday, April 1, 2022, let’s review some reasons donating blood is so important.  Remember, blood donation is a community responsibility, and a local patient needs blood right now.

In fact, about every seventh person that enters a hospital needs blood.  Blood is necessary for accident victims, cancer patients, hemophiliacs, and surgery patients.

However, only 37% of the United States’ population can give blood.  You may not be allowed to donate blood for various reasons, but only 10% out of the 37% of people eligible to donate blood actually donate annually.  So, don’t assume that someone else is donating, that may not be the case.

Blood supply comes from caring people, like you!  It only takes about an hour to be a hero and give the gift of life!
