Today, Bluewell School students participated in the county-wide Battle of the Books competition at Concord University.  As always, they had a great time.

The Battle of the Books is a reading incentive competition for students in third grade and up.  The students are tasked with reading several books and coming together (with other schools) to test their comprehension and knowledge of those books.

This year, Bluewell School's team consisted of Haleigh Proffitt, Emma Miller, Wyatt Parks, Kelsee Aparicio, and Cambree Blankenship.  We are certainly proud of these kids because it takes dedication and a love of reading to perform well at the Battle of the Books.

The 2021-2022 Battle of the Booklist included the following books:

  • The Real McCoy's
  • Book Scavenger
  • Moo
  • First Rule of Punk
  • The Math Inspection 1
  • Roll With It
  • The Tapper Twins Go to War

As you can see, it is an extensive list.  Oftentimes, the students begin reading these books in September in order to prepare for the competition.  Again, we appreciate the hard work these students put into the competition, and we thank Hannah Green and Ashley Pettrey for being this year's coaches.
