Bluewell School just celebrated the 100th Day of School, and we had a great day! So, what does the 100th Day of School mean?
The 100th Day of School is literally the 100th day of the school year. Elementary classroom teachers across the country love this day, and they often use unique strategies to teach math concepts.
For example, kindergarteners practiced counting to 100 using objects they brought from home. Meanwhile, older students practiced Base 10 concepts by calculating with 10 bundles.
Most everyone (adults and children alike) wore t-shirts for this special day. The school was decorated, and the students were excited for the festivities!
In case you want to know, our primary teachers keep track of the number of school days, starting on the first day of school. Therefore, students anticipate the 100th Day of School celebration throughout the entire first half of the school year.
The actual date of the 100th Day of School varies from county to county. It all depends on the school start date. Also, teacher workshop days and inclement weather days are not included in the count. However, remote instruction days are included in the count toward the 100th Day of School.
Hopefully, everyone had a great time celebrating yesterday. I know I did! Be sure to check out Bluewell School’s Facebook page for all the pictures and posts.
