Jenny Lilly, WVASN School Nurse of the Year
CONGRATULATIONS to Jenny Lilly, a nurse for Mercer County Schools for being chosen as the School Nurse of the Year by the West Virginia Association of School Nurses!
Jenny is described by co-workers as “highly skilled, extremely knowledgeable and a compassionate team player”. She has spent over a decade as a school nurse in Mercer County. Prior to school nursing, Jenny spent time in long term care, intensive care, and also in global health living in Kenya, Sudan and Uganda.
Jenny’s accomplishments include National Board Certification and Past President of the West Virginia Association of School Nurses. Further, she is a certified American Heart Association First Aid, CPR and AED Instructor and a trained Boy Scout Leader. Jenny worked to ensure her county has stock epinephrine in schools and assisted in writing a head lice policy for Mercer County which aligned with the American Academy of Pediatrics. Additionally, as a strong proponent of mental health, Jenny is working to develop a mental health program for her county and presented strategies to staff on Compassion Fatigue.
