Evidence-Based Strategies for Writing Instruction

46 Mercer County teachers participated in Title I’s Second Saturday Series for February.  The session: “Evidence-Based Strategies for Writing Instruction” was presented by: Maggie Luma; Coordinator of Literacy Support for the WVDE

 Self-Regulated strategy development is an approach to teaching writing that has over 25 years of empirical research supporting it. In the session, teachers learned the strategies and practiced with hands-on activities. By the end of the day, teachers were equipped with the tools to teach the writing process and how to give students self-regulation skills.
